Photographer Ian Logan's shot of me skating Sunken City landed one latest female skateboard billboards in LA. You can find it on Sunset Blv + Alvarado. So stoked to be spreading female skate love! Huge thank you to Cindy Whitehead and Ian Logan for such an awesome opportunity.
Check out the Girl is NOT a 4 Letter Word apparel and skateboards like you've never seen them before. We are so stoked to share our new 2017 Summer Lookbook with you. All you have to do is click to open the lookbook and tap on the pop-up links in the photos, to take you directly to buy anything your heart desires....
There is nothing better during the summer than having the #FreedomToFind, so that's exactly what we decided to do when we shot this lookbook.
We piled Amanda, Zara, and Kala into a friends jeep and took a little road trip to some iconic LA spots, starting with a rad backyard ramp (complete with a tree house!), after a few hours we got hungry, so we decided to grab some (ok, a box) donuts at this iconic LA spot, and then hit the beach for a late day skate sesh before the sun went down. A perfect LA adventure.

"It's Not About Pretty" Skate Jam Friday night was a success! I was blown away by the amount of love and have never experienced so many girl skaters in the same place at one time. It was amazing meeting girls and families that traveled from South Florida, Georgia and all over the southeast. It was equally as exciting to have skate with women over 40 and girls under 5 years old!
I want to extend a huge thank you to Kona Skatepark for being so supportive and opening their doors for this event. I also want to thank all of the musicians, artists, photographers, volunteers, and companies that made the event possible. And lastly, a big thank you to everyone who attended!
I wish this many rad girls would come together like this every weekend at local skateparks. I hope this sparked some interest and connectivity in the community.
We had several amazing photographers capture the event, you can check out their galleries below. Feel free to download and share, please give credit and use #itsnotaboutpretty.
Until next time!

I am so stoked to have the opportunity to be a guest on TV show The Chat yesterday! I had a blast sharing the It's Not About Pretty book, the Girls Skate Jam at Kona and my personal thoughts on female skateboarding today. Press play below!
After the release of It's Not About Pretty, I was inspired to bring the book to life within the North Florida community. This event is a celebration of girls doing rad things. No matter the skill level or ability, we are coming together to celebrate the book release and local girls that are going after what they love. The event will take place at Kona Skatepark Friday, May 26 from 6 to 10 p.m. Join in for a skate clinic, product toss and raffle, live murals by Nico Suave and Claire Devoe, live music by Kensley Stewart, Gold, Frankincense, and Myrhh and Byrdfree. You know it's going to be a good day when it starts with shooting someone that is half your size but shares the same amount of passion for skateboarding. Native to New York, Zoe is probably the coolest 10 year old I know. Her spring break lead her down the east coastline to a sunny spot in Jacksonville Beach. Below are the results of a morning spent together.
Sometimes it is the most spontaneous photo sessions that truly capture the essence of a place and experience. I visited this location several times upon discovering and just knew I wanted to freeze it in time.
Heading out of the office on Friday, I threw on a hat and grabbed my skateboard to meet Chelsea. What I thought would feel like a last minute blur ended up bringing me back to life. Every feeling running through my body and brain. Every color, light and shadow that danced in front of my eyes. The cool breeze off the ocean and the warm concrete pressed against my hands. Every bit of it noted and taken in.
